We've earned our first crucial points in the Regionalliga East!
On this cold Advent Sunday, our men’s first team traveled to foggy Saxony to face SV Motor Meerane.
Both teams wanted—and needed—to secure their first three points—and that was evident right from the opening whistle.
Time and again, falling behind and facing intense pressure in the first three quarters led to a 1-3 deficit after the third quarter.
But then the game really heated up: Our guys closed the gap to 3-4 just before the end of regulation.
Two minutes left in the game!
Now Levin, our goalie, had to come out—he had been driving the Meeran team to despair with some incredible saves up to that point. With a one-man advantage, we needed at least to tie the game and launch one final offensive.
With their full focus, the guys stayed solid on defense and scored some goals up front during those two minutes.
A 3-4 deficit suddenly turned into a 5-4 final score!
In the end, they deservedly turned the game around—a hard-fought victory for the entire team and Coach Richie. Now, finally, a solid start to the season, and it has us looking forward to more.
We're on fire in practice and looking to build on this momentum: Next week, we'll be fighting for three points in Leipzig.
